I was putting together a list of everything GNNA accomplished in 2019 in anticipation of our January meeting and am so proud of our community.
GNNA helped with the Opening Day Parade organized by softball and little league parents. Hundreds showed up to cheer on our youthful atheletes. GNNA also had participants give their opinions on our neighborhood. People love the ethnic markets but want a coffee shop.
In May, GNNA had a Paint Nite fundraiser. Along with raising money, we all had a lot of fun trying to be artists.
June brings our special scholarship meeting. We handed out 4 schoarships to local students who are heading off to college.
July was Screen on the Green movie at Gardenland Park and cleaning the park beforehand. Throughout the year, GNNA participated in tree plantings.
November brought a new endeavor as GNNA participated in Dia de los Muertos with an altar dedicated to the memory of local residents.
December included the holiday tree lighting, holiday dinner, speaking before the CA Air Resources Board about including South Natomas in AB 617 funding for air quality monitoring, and a special trip to cheer on the Sacramento Kings.
None of this is possible without support from our Gardenland and Northgate Neighbors. Please join us at our first meeting of the new year on January 9, 2020 at 6:30. We will work on priorities and the budget for this next year. I hope to see you at Stanford Settlement, 450 West El Camino Ave. Let's make 2020 a great year!
